Practitioner

Hey!-2Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and Movement Therapist. I am dedicated to helping you to feel great and to return to doing the things you love!

Ever since I was little, I knew that I wanted to study the human body. And I knew that I wanted to help people to be able to move their bodies, whether that be to play a sport that they enjoy, to dance, to garden, or to play with their children with ease and happiness. I knew that I wanted to help people to overcome pain that prevents them from doing the things that they love, so that they can lead the happiest and brightest lives possible.

I decided to study Kinesiology and obtained my B.Sc. Kin. in 2008 from the University of Saskatchewan. I also started to teach fitness classes and to offer one-on-one personal training sessions as a Certified Personal Trainer. Although I had learned a lot about human movement, I was constantly frustrated when I didn’t have the answers or solutions for helping my clients who encountered aches and pains while training.

I decided that I wanted to learn more about the body, and what I could do to help people to overcome their injuries.

I was initially drawn to Osteopathy through my interest in anatomy and physiology, as well as the desire to learn more about how to help the body heal itself. What I love about Osteopathy is that it is gentle in nature, and that as an Osteopathic Practitioner, I have the ability to take time to get to know my patients and to work with them in a caring and respectful way.

Since beginning my studies in manual therapy, I have gained a wide range of clinical experiences, having worked with people of all ages and with various health conditions, including expectant mothers, babies, seniors, and people suffering from sports injuries, concussions, following car accidents, even helping people suffering from the pain of digestive disorders.

My current interest is in learning more about chronic pain and how I can help people to suffer less and to live more fully.

I am focused on learning science-based approaches to helping people to manage or to overcome their pain and discomfort. I may not have all of the answers, but I can say this with certainty: My commitment is to bring you the very best of what I’m experiencing and learning, and to offer the best solutions that I can think of, always with honesty and integrity.

IMG_3421I have been fortunate to combine my love of travel with my  passion for helping others. I traveled to Nicaragua in 2008 to volunteer as a paediatric physiotherapy assistant as well as the Sports Medicine Trainer for the Diriangen professional soccer team. In 2014, I had the pleasure of volunteering with osteopathic practitioners from around the world with Osteopathy Without Borders in Peru.

In addition to my clinical experience as an Osteopathic Practitioner, I have over 10 years of experience in the health and fitness field, having enjoyed offering one-on-one sessions as a Certified Personal Trainer in both rehabilitative and private settings, and as an exercise research assistant for the University of Saskatchewan Kinesiology department.

My love of movement stems from my background in dance which has lead me to teaching a variety of movement based classes, including yoga, various types of fitness classes, and restorative exercises. I love to be active in a variety of fun ways, includes yoga, rock climbing, hiking, and exploring trails with my dog, Indie.

Originally from Saskatchewan, I had the privilege of being brought up in a bilingual household and I am happy to be able to speak English and French with you during your consultation.
