About My Practice

Suffer Less. Live More.

When we are in pain, our body tends to tense up and our muscles contract in attempts to protect us from danger. When we tense up, it becomes harder to move. And when we stop moving, our suffering can increase. And so begins the vicious cycle of suffering –> muscle contraction —> decreased movement and range of motion –> more suffering. Then we can add the secondary effects of pain and lack of movement, such as anxiety, isolation, frustration, etc.

“For me, there is no greater privilege than to provide the opportunity for someone to get out of suffering from pain and to return to what they love and to living again.”

My job is to help you to break that cycle by providing relaxation based osteopathic treatment. The gentle nature of osteopathy can be very soothing and beneficial to the nervous system. That, in turn, will help your muscles to relax, which will then improve your body’s ability to move. And hopefully, reverse the vicious cycle described above.

I truly want you to feel more confident in your movements and to be able to trust that your body is strong, resilient, and adaptable. Even if it may not feel that way to you right now.

Whatever your goals are, we can work together to overcome your pain and to get you back to living. Whether you want to return to gardening, getting back to playing a sport you enjoy, or being able to work for longer periods of time with less pain, it’s entirely possible to modify the state you are in right now.

I take a holistic approach to treating a person by taking into consideration not only the physical symptoms and pain triggers, but also by understanding the importance of mindset, the role of emotions, as well as social situations and other lifestyle factors that may be contributing to the problem, and may also be important components of the solution.

As an Osteopathic Practitioner, I am trained to find the root cause of your painful condition.

Osteopathy is a gentle and safe option to helping people of all ages who are suffering from a wide range of conditions and symptoms. I can offer alternative options to pain medication for pain management.

I believe in a team approach when it comes to providing the best care possible for my patients.
I also work alongside other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, physical therapists, massage therapists, chiropractors, counsellors, and psychologists.

My goal is to empower you by providing you with education about your body, and what you can do to feel better.

feel good.jpgI prioritize patient education, so that you can learn about what is going on in your body, why you are experiencing your symptoms, and most importantly – what you can do to feel better!

The gentle manual therapy techniques I use can aid in relaxation, improving joint range of motion, and decreasing pain and discomfort.

Once your body is able to relax and move with a little more ease, I provide individualized movement-based exercises that are appropriate for where you are currently at in your recovery, always with your goals in mind. I also believe that the best kind of exercise is the kind that you actually enjoy, and I do my best to work with you to find meaningful and fun ways to improve your mobility, strength, and if desired, fitness ability. We may also discuss lifestyle modifications, relaxation and pain-management techniques as tools that you can use as part of your self-care plan.
